When will be the first batch of Zikedrive shipping out?

Hello! The first batch was shipped on August 13, and the second batch is expected to be shipped by the end of August 2023.

Hello do you have a list of NVMe brands and models compatible with the enclosure and do you also have brands and models which are not compatible?

Hi, ZikeDrive supports most brand NVMe SSDs. We have tested on Samsung WD and other brands, all works great. we have not found it is not compatible with other NVMe SSDs. Due to the real working environment, the speed will be a little affected, and it’s hard to determine which one will have the best performance.

May I ask what chipset model is used for the ZikeDrive Z666? Is it intel based or other chip manufacturer?

ZikeDrive use ASM2464PD chip, it is developed by Asmedia - (a subsidiary of ASUS Group), which is the first company in the world to launch a USB4 master chip certified by USB-IF.

Is there a way to remove the clear casing from the drive? I prefer the clean look of the aluminium enclosure on its own.

Yes, it supports removing from the driver, mainly used to protect the SSD enclosure from dropping and scratching.

What’s the maximum SSD size it can support?

Currently it can support capacity of 16TB, and for larger, updateFW needs to be adapted according to the specifications of the SSD.

How do I use the ZikeDrive after I receive it?

1. Open the metal cover of the housing.
2. Turn the SSD fixing rubber plug so that the semicircular boss of the rubber plug aligns with the SSD gap, insert the SSD, and then turn the fixing rubber plug to lock the SSD.
3. Peel off the blue film on the thermal pad that has been adhered to the metal cover, and then close the cover.
4. Take out the included USB4 cable, connect the SSD hard disk box and the computer, and you can start using it.
5. The SSD shell will generate high temperatures during use, please use it with caution.

Delivers on it's promises!

I got the ZIKEDRIVE and what should I say? I does exactly what it should.
It is compatible with every device I tested.

It works with USB 3.2 Gen 2 at 1000 MB/s
with USB 3.2 Gen2x2 at 2000 MB/s
and with USB4/Thunderbolt at 3800 MB/s Read and nearly 3100 MB/s writes. On my M2 Max MacBook it is a little bit slower at 3100 MB/s Read and 2600 MB/s writes.

Exactly what ZIKE Tech has promised from this product.

But better that other cases like Orico for example, it is real USB4 without the 2 Chip trick. So it is compatible with everything. The Orico was not usable on a real USB4 Host Device.

Also the heavy metal case is a big plus for thermals I have way better temps for the SSD in this case then before in other cases.

I use it with a Lexar NM790 4TB SSD without any issues.

It's not often so but this deliveres exactly what the manufacturer promises and that on the same price or cheaper then the competition. And it has for my knowledge no downsides.

Achieve 3.8G read and 3.1G write

Hi there,

I got the ZikeDrive, works well with the SN 850X for 3.8G read and 3.1G write.

Using a WD Black SN850X 2TB with the WD Black Heatsink. Running without the ZikeDrive cover. ZikeDrive is plugged into USB4/TB4 port using the supplied cable. Freshly formatted.

Computer is a Zenbook UX6404VI laptop with i913900H. Windows 11 Pro.

However, the included cable is too short. I'd like to buy a longer cable, maybe something like 0.3 to 0.5 meter, what specification of the cable should I be looking for? Just any USB4 40GBPS cable or some other specific term?

Overall the concept of the product is good however the execution is ok. The heatsink doesn’t clip in tight enough with the SSD causing the drive to run hotter and dissipate heat slower. However, if you press down the heatsink, temperatures immediately go down. In the bright side, drive speeds are fast and allow for complex workflows to be delegated to an external drive.

Contrary to what some others are saying, I believe the design of the drive is made to be more efficient in dissipating heat, therefore I have no problem with how it looks and the acrylic casing. The only problem I have is that the contact between the heatsink and the drive isn’t secure enough.

Edit: I added a thermal pad which eliminated the issue. However support was not helpful at all and ignored the issue.

Super Geh?use

Mit eins der schnellsten im Hause.

Das Geh?use kommt in Plastik-Ummantelung, die ich sofort entfernt habe. Habe das, wie auch andere Rezensenten, nicht wirklich verstanden. Soll das Plastik vor Kratzern schtzen? Habe alles entfernt, damit die W?rme auch gut abgefhrt werden kann.

Getestet habe ich das Geh?use mit einer WD Black SN850X an einem MacMini M2 Pro und an einem Macbook Pro M1 Pro 14" (so viele ?Pros") :-) und wie auf dem Bild zu sehen, erreicht das Geh?use beim Schreiben, 3201 MB/s und beim Lesen 3032 MB/s. Eine Samsung 980 Pro schafft knapp 2900 MB/s beim Schreiben.
Habe keine relevanten Unterschiede zwischen mitgelieferten - und hochwertigen Thunderbolt-Kabeln messen k?nnen. brigens gute Idee mit dem Kabelfach an der Seite!
